Women's Basketball beats Blue Springs

The Liberty North Varsity Women's Basketball Team traveled to Blue Springs High School on Monday, January 23 and came away with a 61-36 conference victory over the Wildcats.  The win moves North's conference record to 2-1 and their overall record to 12-4 on the season.

The Eagles were very balanced in the scoring column as three players reached double figures for the game.  Junior Kennedy Herrig led the attack with 15 points.  Junior Ava Levings had 14 points, Junior Gabby Rose 11 points and Freshman Millie Perry added 8 points.  North converted on 22 total field goals for the game with 19 assists.  Senior Nevaeh Spillman led the way in assists with 5, and Levings and Rose each added 4 assists.  Spillman led the way in rebounding grabbing 7 boards.  Senior Ella Hayes and Herrig each grabbed 6 rebounds for the game.

The JV Eagles were also victorious against Blue Springs with a 42-24 victory over the Wildcats.  The win pushes the JV record to 10-1 overall on the season.

Freshman Kara Durso led the way in scoring for the JV squad as she dropped in 12 points.  Sophomore Carlie Michaelsen added 11 points and Freshman Emery Lauber had 8 points.

Both teams will be back in action on Thursday, January 26 as they will host Park Hill South in a non-conference game in the Fieldhouse.  Game time for the JV game will be 5:30pm , and the Varsity game will follow at 7pm.
