The Liberty North Women's Basketball Team celebrated Senior Night sending off their three graduating Seniors with a 49-34 victory over visiting Ray Pec High School Panthers on Monday, February 6th. With the win, the Eagles improved their overall record to 14-7 on the season, and 3-2 in Conference play.
North was led offensively by the Senior duo of Ella Hayes with 11 points and Nevaeh Spillman who added 10 points. Junior Ava Levings added 9 points and Freshman Alex Couch had 8 points. The Eagles were led in rebounding by Spillman who grabbed 9 boards, and Hayes who had 7 rebounds. Junior Gabby Rose added 5 rebounds and Junior Laura Babbitt and Levings each added 4 rebounds.
North's JV squad kept their hot streak alive with a solid 56-21 victory over the Panthers. With the win the JV's record now stands at 14-2 overall on the season.
North was led in scoring by Junior Victoria Yak who had 14 points. Junior Mackenzie Mills followed with 10 points, and Freshman Payton Lutz had 9 points. Everyone that played for the Eagles in the JV game found the scoring column. Yak led the way rebounding grabbing 7 boards. Mills added 6 rebounds and Lutz added 3 boards.
The Eagle's will next be in action on Friday, February 10th when they travel to Lee's Summit West to take on the Titans in a Conference battle. This will be a boy/girl double header at Lee's Summit West on Friday night. Game time for the JV game will be at 4pm, and the Varsity game will follow at 5:30pm.
