Women's Basketball beats Blue Springs South

The Liberty North Varsity Women's Basketball Team completed their 2022-23 regular season schedule on Monday, February 20th traveling to Blue Springs South High School to take on the Jaguars in a Conference game.  The Eagles came away with a hard fought 43-35 come from behind victory.  With the win North finishes the regular season with a 17-8 overall record, and finishes in a tie for second place in the Suburban Gold Conference with a 5-3 record.

At the offensive end of the floor the Eagles were led by Junior Ava Levings who had 12 points and Junior Gabby Rose with 11 points.  Freshman Millie Perry added 8 points while Junior Kennedy Herrig and Freshman Alex Couch each had 4 points.  Senior Nevaeh Spillman, Rose, Levings and Perry each had 4 rebounds to pace North in the rebounding category.

The JV Eagles were also victorious against the Jaguars claiming a hard fought 38-31 victory.  With the win North's JV ends a very successful season with a 17-3 overall record.

The JV squad was led offensively by Sophomore Carlie Michaelsen who had 13 points for the game.  Junior Victoria Yak added 6 points and Junior Mackenzie Mills had 5 points.  Yak and Mills led the way rebounding with 8 and 7 rebounds.

The Varsity Eagles will next be in action on Thursday, March 2 as they will host a first round District playoff game at 6:30pm in the Fieldhouse.  The Eagles will take on the Park Hill Trojans in a rematch of last year's first round District game.
