By Admin 03/14/2023, 11:30am CDT

The first games of the 2023 spring sports season are getting closer! With only three days till the first official competition of the spring sports season, let's take a look at last season.

Men's and Women's Track and Field

Men's Track and Field had its best season to date in 2022. The team as a whole finished 3rd in the state with two event champions, including javelin and 4x800 Meter Relay. The team also had several top 8 placements that contributed to the final team score.

Women's Track and Field qualified 8 girls to state last year, with two placing in the top 8, and now placing in the top 10. The team as a whole finished 21 of 43 teams who qualified for finals.

Men's Golf

Men's Golf had a successful season last year, qualifying a fairly young team to state, and finishing eighth in the state as a whole. In his first season, freshman Caden Mickleson was also able to tie the school record for lowest shot game. The team returns most of their state qualifiers and looks to continue to show success this season.

Men's Tennis

Men's Tennis had almost a perfect season as a team going 11-3 last year. They graduated 7 key players, but look to continue last season's success with a new crop of players coming through the progam. Program star, Quinton James, has also come back to coach his former team one year after his graduation.

Women's Soccer

Women's Soccer had their best season to date last year, going undefeated in the regular season. They also made it to their first state final four, leaving the tournament with the third place title. The team graduated 7 seniors and 5 starters, but still have a strong team that is hungry to earn the state title.

Baseball

Baseball had quite an astonishing season going 33-9. The team also made history by winning the programs first state title in program history last season. The team has yet another strong team this year, and looks to earn back to back state titles.

Baseball will kick off the spring sports season this Friday in the Metro Leadoff Tournament. Be sure to check out the schedule for all spring sports as their seasons get started.
