Olathe North Invitational Results

The Liberty North Boys & Girls Cross Country teams traveled across state lines to Olathe to compete at the fantastic Olathe North Twilight Meet this Saturday. The meet is limited in its acceptance to 30 teams, but drew perennial powerhouse squads from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Iowa including several nationally ranked teams. 12 of the 16 girls racing and 28 of the 30 boys who raced got a season best 5K! 

 

Girls Varsity

The Girls Varsity squad took 23rd overall, led by Senior Caroline Witte, finishing in 101st place! Jaelynn Conner, (128th), Caroline Dilts (129th) and Gelina Malisos rounded out the scoring for the Eagles! 

 

Boys Varsity

The Boys Varsity squad took 13th behind Junior Isheanesu Nziramasanga, who took 29th! Drew Gra (70th), Cash Cogan (73rd), Kevin Lewczyk (105th) and Nate Haberlach (112th) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles. Of note, Cash Cogan broke Ethan Lee's Freshman 5k record for the Eagles! He is now the top Freshman of all time to come through the program! 

 

Girls JV

The girls JV squad took 14th place, only running 5 girls! Freshman Coralyn Young was the leader of the JV squad, finishing 64th. Alex Akers (71st), Eliza Jones (119th), Emily Seymore (129th) and Josie Hilton (135th) finished up the scoring for the Eagles! 

 

Boys JV

The Boys JV team didn't get a team score due race error - the starter tried to call the field back, but 1/3 of the field didn't hear & continued racing. They weren't able to combine results at the end of the meet after the second group ran. However, the JV squad ran well, with all 6 runners getting a PR! Parker McDonald took 20th, medaling for the Eagles! Alex Rogers (31st), Josh Knowles (no score), Caden Moore (43rd) and Leo Diaz (54th) all competed for the Eagles. 

 

Girls C Team

The girls C Team took 15th place, with Lydia Yates leading the charge in 67th! Lyla Triche (85th), Meigan Tyrone (113th), Elsie Wickham (132nd) and Saanvi Rao (144th) finished the scoring for the Eagles! 

 

Boys C Team

The boys C Team had 5 boys medaling, all finishing in the top 15, and taking 2nd overall! Freshman Kellan French took the lead for the Eagles in his first 5k ever, placing 4th! Other medalists were Quinn Peters (8th), Charlie Fisher (12th), Hank Wright (14th) and Alex Allison (15th).

Todd Warner Invitational Results

The Liberty North Cross Country teams competed at the Todd Warner Invitational at Staley High School on Saturday. There were 22 teams present, including some of the top Missouri & Kansas schools! The Eagles were up to the challenge. 

 

The Varsity Girls took the line first, finishing 4th place as a team! Freshman Lucy Wright led the way and became the top Liberty North Freshman of all time, and the #3 all time Eagle, finishing 2nd in the race! Sophomore Harper Tiesing took 7th overall, and became the #7 all time Eagle with her race! Seniors Caroline Witte (28th), Caroline Dilts (55th) and Sophomore Jaelynn Conner (57th) also scored for the Eagles. 

 

The Boys Varsity were next, finishing 8th as a team! They were led again by their strong pack of Juniors Isheanesu Nziramasanga (36th), Kevin Lewczyk (37), Sophomores Drew Gray (39), Nate Haberlach (41) and Freshman Cash Cogan (50th)! 

 

JV Girls were up next, finishing 5th as a team. The top 5 finishers in this race were medalists Gelina Malisos (8th) and Coralyn Young (15th). Alex Akers (30th), Josie Hilton (52nd) and Eliza Jones (57th) all helped to score for the Eagles! 

 

The JV Boys also finished 5th overall. They were led by Freshman Caden Moore (22nd), Junior Alex Rogers (23rd), Freshman Leo Diaz (39th), Senior Josh Knowles (40th) and Senior Michael Thornton (42nd) all helped to score for the Eagles. 

 

The C Team Girls were 5th as well! Scorers in the C Team race were: Kaleece Chisolm (16th), Lydia Yates (19th), Lyla Triche (28th), Meigan Tyrone (32nd) and Elsie Wickham (33rd)! 

 

The C Team Boys took 2nd overall, with 3 top 10 finishers! Junior Parker McDonald (2nd), Senior Quinn Peters (3rd), and Preston Hemphill (10th) all earned medals! Freshman Alex Akers (12th) and Kellan French (13th) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles!

Tim Nixon Invitational Results

The Liberty North and Liberty High School Cross Country teams were honored to host area teams for the Cross Country season kickoff for the 2024 Season - the Tim Nixon Invitational! 30 teams were represented from the area. Below are the scoring members of each team (top 5) or medalists and team results. 

 

Girls Varsity - The Lady Eagles started the season off at 8:00 AM, placing 3rd as a team and bringing home a trophy! They were led by newcomer, Freshman Lucy Wright, who broke the All Time Girls Freshman record, taking 2nd overall with an 18:55! Sophomore Harper Tiesing was next with a 20:10, placing 10th, Senior Caroline Witte was 20th with a 21:03, Sophomore Jaelynn Conner, 34th with 21:52 and Senior Caroline Dilts was 35th with 21:56! 

 

 

Boys Varsity - The Boys Varsity took Runner Up Honors, also earning a plaque! They were led by Juniors Isheanesu Nziramasanga in 8th with a 16:18 and Kevin Lewczyk with a 16:21 for 11th place! A pair of Sophomores was next - Nate Haberlach in 14th with a 16:33 and Drew Gray in 23rd with a 16:46. Freshman Cash Cogan rounded out the scoring, running a 16:59 for 23rd place. 

 

 

Girls JV - This girls squad took 4th place overall, led by Freshman Kinley Still in 22nd, Junior Liv Henry in 23rd, Freshman Coralyn Young in 28th, Sophomore Alex Akers in 31st and Junior Gelina Malisos closed the door for the Eagles with 35th place. 

 

 

Boys JV - This boys squad was runner up, 4 points from winning! Leading the charge with 3 boys in the top 10 were Freshman Beckett Andreason (3rd), Juniors Alex Rogers (6th) and Parker McDonald (7th). Freshman Caden Moore (14th) and Leo Diaz (19th) also scored and medaled for the squad! 

 

 

Girls C Team - The C Team girls took 5th place at Nixon, led by Eliza Jones in 27th, Emily Seymore in 28th, Lydia Yates in 43rd, Lyla Triche in 53rd and Elsie Wickham rounded out the scorers with 57th place! 

 

 

Boys C Team - The boys C Team were MEET CHAMPIONS!!! They had 8 medalists! Charlie Fisher (2nd), Hank Wright (4th), Quinn Peters (7th), Alex Allison (11th) and John Olson (14th)! Other medalists were Tate Goeglein (16th), Aidan Hurley (18th) and Kellan French (19th)!

Cross Country State Ring Ceremony

Today, the nine members of the Men's Cross Country Team that won the Class 5 MSHSAA team title were awarded their rings. These rings represent the time and commitment these men had to their team as well as their success in the fall. We congratulate the team on this massive accomplishment and look forward to seeing the continued success of the program.
